Day 1

Dads for Life 2016

This year, Corporation Primary School participates in the Dads for Life movement. This is a national men’s movement in Singapore promoting active fatherhood. Our first 20 fathers of the 2016 P1 cohort who walked to school with their child had received a souvenir to acknowledge their support and to encourage more fathers to be involved in their children’s school lives.

Parenting Talk

To help parents prepare their children’s journey in Primary One, the school conducted a talk on “Transition to Primary One” for all Respect Parents. Tips were shared on how to help their children adapt to the new routine and school environment.

Our CPS PSG has been greatly involved in school programmes that support students' holistic development. Ms Siah, SSD and the PSG Chairman, Mdm Even Woon also shared with the P1 parents on how they could come together to work with the school to provide an enriching learning environment for our pupils through the PSG and CPA scheme. They also shared Family Matters @ school programmes led by the PSG.

Day 2

Programmes For Fathers and Mothers

Mr Richard and Ms Siah conducted a talk, Helicopter Parenting, highlighting the importance of the role a father plays in the child’s life through his/her growing years.  The talk aims to encourage fathers to be more aware of the importance of their roles as husbands and fathers. It challenges them in committing to be good fathers and role models to their children by spending quality time through the acquisition of skills learnt and thereby bringing transformation to their lives.

As an act of love toward the little ones, 30 fathers prepared healthy sandwiches for all our Respect pupils. The sandwiches were personally distributed to all the Respect pupils during recess. In the meantime, the mothers were involved in a scrapbook making session to encapsulate their child’s precious moments on their first days at school. Thank you parents for creating a memorable day for our Respect pupils.
